Home Protector Insurance Company Limited was established in September 1974 and was registered under the Companies Ordinance with its Head Office located at No. 45 Pickstock Street, Belize City.  This was the address of the Moore’s’ family home and that is how the Company got its name.  Home Protector a wholly owned and operated Belizean Company is the oldest local family Insurance Company in Belize.  We are also the fastest growing Insurance Company in Belize reliable and financially secure.  Fully capitalized under the laws of Belize and is fully reinsured through our reinsurers on the European and American Markets.

When Home Protector opened its doors the staff consisted of three agents, a clerk and Mr. Norman Moore as the Manager, selling Industrial Policies known also as Weekly Premium policies. These policies are Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment and Hospitalization, which we still market today.

As time past the staff grew and every room in the building was filled and one could not help but think that Home Protector was growing. Management soon realized that there was a need for more space, so they packed up and moved to the lower flat of No. 55 Baymen Avenue, Belize City – the home of Mr. Moore, so you see the company was surely living up to its name – being housed in homes. This move was for the dismantling of the wooden building at Pickstock Street and the construction of a two storey concrete building.  At the completion of the building everyone was proud and happy to have their own space.  There was the Manager’s office, Secretary’s area, Sales Supervisor’s private office, an agents’ room and even a meeting room.

In 1978, Home Protector branched out into other lines of business the first being Property Insurance, then Motor Insurance. As a result of this, and having to employ more people,  space again became a problem, so we had to split the staff - moving the policy control department again to the lower flat of Mr. Moore’s private dwelling.  It was at this point that we started thinking that we needed to build a new office.

This dream was realized on September 4th 2004 when our brand new spanking offices were inaugurated.  This is a real testament to the hard work of a very dedicated man. Home Protector presently offers insurance in all lines of business with agents and representatives in all districts.
